A British charity called Age UK created an index of well being based on survey data from 15,000 residents over age 60. Researchers found that 40 social and economic indicators are the most useful for estimating a person’s overall quality of life. Not surprising, the results found that financial well-being, physical and mental health, education and emotional support were significant factors on a persons well-being when they are older. However, the measure with the biggest impact, was the number of creative and cultural activities in which somebody participates.
