Connecting with friends is one way to have a more positive attitude. Recent research concluded people who are optimistic tend to live longer than those who are pessimistic. One reason is optimists generally experience less stress in their life.

Experts say pessimism can weaken the immune system and diminish the overall strength of the body. And they say you can create a more positive attitude by being “intentionally optimistic” and focusing on behaviors and situations you can change.
